ROUTE 66 ON THE AIR
Back in 2000, we organized a new special operating event; Route 66 On the Air! to celebrate the highway's
75th anniversary in 2001.
It turned out to be wildly popular and quickly outgrew our small club so
administration
was turned over to the current sponsor,
the Citrus Belt ARC in California. Route 66 on the Air is still an annual
event and has grown from the original 10 stations to 19 HAM radio clubs and 2 Rovers operating from locations
along the length of Old Route 66.
For details on how to participate and QSL information for all the stations, visit the Citrus Belt ARC info page
OR go to the W6T, W6G, and W6S call sign pages on QRZ.COM
The next Route 66 on the Air Special Event is 6-14 September, 2025 (UTC)
